Comic Fiesta Project Harapan: Hope Is Always There!!

After the nature disasters in Japan, Malaysia Comic Fiesta held an event call: Project Harapan/ Hope. Hope is a manga-influenced artbook and exhibition project planned to raise funds for Japan. I draw a work that inspired from Hiyau Miyazaki. Hiyau Miyazaki(宫崎骏) is a legendary japanese artist that give hopes and values of life to peoples through his cartoon. ''Hope is always there'', the rain will stop and the sun will shine again.

  Hope Is Always There

About Hiyau Miyazaki, I really love his art and cartoon..he is one in a million artist that can really shine peoples life with the works he has made. I still remember the first time i saw his movie was the ''Spirited Away'' (千里千寻) when i really amazed of his imagination..and then i start to follow his previous works like ''Grave of the Fireflies''(再见萤火虫).. I really will say that ''The Grave of the Fireflies'' is his best touching cartoon movie. Believe me, I teared when i watched the second and third, the story plot is something closed to reality, happen in some where, some times. It is about the life of the brother and younger sister after the war. The story itself doesnt has much thing very fancy, in fact it is intrepreted like a real story happen before. How the brother and sister fight with the reality, the movie itself provide a good values to the audiences. Thats also the reason why I like Hiyau Miyazaki, fancy, fantasy or fight with life, he will always use his way to deliver good values that inspire peoples.

A few scenes from the ''Grave of the Fireflies''(再见萤火虫)

The reality is cruel for the siblings. But love is the key that give the brother energy to live on.
